It's time to rethink your approach. Pushing harder through stress and pain leaves the body overloaded and depleted. What's optimal for one person may be too much or too little for you. We create clarity around your goals and what your body needs right now to build a plan that supports you fully.
We start with an assessment, because the place that hurts or feels stuck is usually not where the problem started. Pain is often the end result of compensation patterns that built up over months or years (sometimes decades). No single test defines the plan; the assessments show how all the pieces fit together.

"If you're not assessing, you're guessing." Paul Chek, founder of the CHEK Institute
Following proven systems from the CHEK Institute, I coach with the whole picture in mind to balance the body. Whether your goal is to move without pain, increase energy, improve body composition or live with more passion and purpose, an integrated approach will help you become the best version of yourself.
Food quality, food selection, hydration, and digestion. Establish habits you can sustain.
Training that meets you where you are and builds real, functional strength, mobility and stability to move well in the activities you love.
Sleep, rest, stress management and nervous system regulation create an environment for growth and vitality.
Clarity of your values and priorities, discipline and habits, and making time for what brings you joy.
When these foundations are in place, your body has what it needs to lower stress, recover, and heal. The goal is change that lasts: see results now and build habits you can sustain for life.
Training begins with precision and purpose, followed by progression as you build a solid foundation in each phase. You start where your body is ready, and move to the next phase when your body can handle more.
Improve movement quality, reduce pain, restore alignment, and remove compensations with corrective exercise.
Intentional movement execution to build strength, mobility, stability, and control in foundational movement patterns.
Express your true physical capacity through training applied to your sport, your job, or the activities you love, with added speed, load, and complexity.
Your body changes as you get stronger, and your life changes too. Training programs and lifestyle recommendations are updated regularly, and we reassess at set points to measure real progress (how you move, how you feel, and how your habits are holding up). That way, you never have to guess what to do next. The goal is always to "graduate" with a better understanding and awareness of your body so you can maintain and continue your transformation on your own.
A personal trainer usually focuses on the workout. I start with an assessment of how you move and how you live (sleep, stress, nutrition, and energy), and your plan addresses all of it. Training is one part of the plan, and it's built around what your body needs right now.
Everyone is different. Some changes, like better sleep, more energy, or less pain, can show up within the first few weeks. Lasting change takes longer, which is why coaching is built around multi-month programs with reassessments along the way.
Most of my clients are busy professionals and former athletes who want to move without pain, feel strong, and have more energy. If you're tired of starting over or something just feels off, we should talk.
Yes. Lifestyle coaching is fully online, and most coaching calls happen over video. The movement assessment is done in person at Forged Barbell so I can see exactly how you move.
No. Online clients can train at home, at their own gym, or wherever fits their schedule, and I build the program around the equipment you have. In-person assessments and training sessions take place at Forged Barbell in Ann Arbor.
Yes. Pain and nagging injuries are some of the most common reasons people reach out. The assessment helps find what's contributing to the pain so we can work on the cause. If you have a new injury or unexplained symptoms, please see your doctor first. I'm a coach, and I don't diagnose or treat medical conditions.
No. We start with food quality and the habits that will make the biggest difference for you, then build from there at a pace you can sustain. There's no one-size-fits-all diet, and I won't ask for perfection.
That's more common than you'd think. Part of my job is helping you find ways to move that you actually enjoy and that fit your body and your life. The best program is the one you'll stick with.
It's a 20-minute video call. We talk through your goals and what you've already tried, and I recommend where to start. There's no pressure to sign up.
Comfortable athletic clothes that let me see how you move, like shorts and a fitted top or sports bra. Parts of the assessment are done barefoot, and I'll walk you through everything before we start.
